Madness

Keep me-
Breathe life into me;
Capture me,
For otherwise I will flee
To another world-
To a world my own;
To a world I may
Call home.
Save me
From myself,
For I am deadly
To those around me;
Shelter me
Lest I go insane-
Be the thunder,
I the acid rain.
Divinity
Seems to be
A familiar thing;
Serenity-
Not nearly.
Keep me
From myself,
From my own
Illusions,
From my destructive
And betraying mind;
Confusion lasts
For but a moment
In this world all my own-
It precedes my madness
Then turns my heart
To one of stone.
Pain-it stays the same,
Numbing my touch
And raised, blue veins
Until there is nothing left
But simple me.
Hide from me
And rescue me
And forgive me-
For I do not realize what I do
Until my madness is through.
